The Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia is renowned for producing some of the finest coffee’s available anywhere in the world.
This coffee is no exception. This washed coffee is from Aricha washing station and has medium body with a balanced acidity.
Citrus and berry notes dance over sweet almond and hints of chocolate.
The coffee was cultivated by some 650 smallholder farmers in the town and surrounding area of Aricha. The ripe cherries are delivered to the wet mill for sorting and pulping before fermentation for 36-48 hours depending on the climatic conditions. After this the beans are thoroughly washed and graded before being dried on sunbeams for 12-15 days. From here they are transported to Addis Ababa for export.
Perfect when served as espresso, however will be wonderful when brewed in a filter style.
