Our family have been buying Quist’s coffee for decades. Your little shop in Melbourne was our go-to place to get proper coffee beans, back in the 70s when the other local offerings were decidedly poor. We remember the Danish owners, it was a little upper-middle-class haven for good coffee that everyone in the more upmarket suburbs knew about! I used to buy my aunt a bag of beans and take them over when she could no longer get into the store itself. She was a wealthy, well travelled woman and adored your coffee. When I worked in the city, I’d often walk up to the shop, buy a coffee and buy the beans to take home. A Melbourne institution for those in the know!
